Good morning and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Thanks for another great delivery week!
If you're not following us on social media you missed the post about local, organic, unwashed eggs that are available. They're fed 100% organic feed, free range, etc. My friend Lauren has them available for pick up near Pope High School. If you'd like to try and get on her list her contact info is lalabaer@gmail.com
We've added a few items from a Western NC business, Wholly Goat Soaps and Such. We discovered them at a farmers market in June while visiting Maggie Valley and fell in love with their products. They use goat milk sourced from Nubian goats they raise themselves! Like all small businesses in the area, they're feeling the pinch due to the hurricane. We're purchasing items from them at retail via asking for a wholesale price. We're selling their products at $1 above the amount offered on their website to cover a little bit of our costs. Whether you buy from us or directly from them I know you'll be thrilled.
I'm mailing off the hats and blankets Friday to an individual in one of my crochet groups who's been handing them out personally to people picking up food donations in Western North Carolina. Thank you to all who helped with this project.
Looking ahead to Thanksgiving (I know, I know) we will be having a delivery that week. We'll be delivering Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving and taking the following week off.
If you're a planner like me and you've already got the holidays on your mind, please consider us for gift baskets! I'll have a holiday order form go out on Black Friday. They're always a big hit with teachers. I usually add jams, salts and handmade dishcloths depending on your budget. I also give discounts if you buy 5 or more.
Update on Jack, he's 6 pounds, neutered and has settled in with our other pets well. He likes to sleep on the electric blanket, eat little bits of steak from our plates and roll around in catnip. He's definitely an orange cat, his favorite thing to play with is his tail!
Chef Sue of Leaf and Loaf kindly shared another nutrient dense and delicious recipe with us! Many of the ingredients can be found in this week's delivery. https://www.hollandbotanical.com/blog/orange-and-plum-salad
If you're in need of a little guidance regarding how to add more nutrition into your eating plan, Chef Sue is the answer! You can find more information about the services she offers on her website, leafandloaf.com
