Our mixed basket delivered 10/15-16
Good Thursday morning to you all! I hope you're having a great week so far. I'm certainly loving the cooler weather. I hope those who bought brussel sprouts are "enjoying" them.
I'm still collecting handmade hats and scarves. I'll be sending them to Cover the City Project in NC to be distributed to those in need. If you're not a knitter/crocheter and would like to help I'd appreciate anything you can spare to help cover shipping. I'll be sending them off in about 3 weeks. THANK YOU!
If you have a great recipe you'd like to share, please do!
Chef Sue of Leaf and Loaf has generously shared 2 nutrient dense recipes with you! I'm definitely going to try the gingered pear and kale salad.

I'm making "clean the fridge" soup this week. Roast whatever vegetables you have, drizzle with olive oil, rosemary salt and fresh herbs at 450 until tender, about 30 minutes. (I'm using butternut squash, acorn squash, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, peppers, maybe some apples). Add to a blender with a cup of broth and mix until smooth. Transfer to a large pot over medium heat and add broth until you reach your preferred consistency. I add about 1/2 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 to it towards the end. Season as you like, top with toasted pumpkin seeds and serve with a big slice of bread.
Aloha to Aging is having a Family "Spooktacular" Festival this weekend. With over 40 vendors there's going to be a lot to do for both young and old! We're donating a Fall gift basket to be raffled off along with other great items. I'm going to swing by before the big game!

This week's basket is a good one! You'll find buttercup/kabocha squash as an add on. This squash lasts a LONG time, so if you're not able to eat it this week it will definitely make 2 weeks. It's one of my absolute favorite hard squashes.
$35 Mixed basket: Butternut squash, mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes, carrots, Yukon gold potatoes, apples, lettuce, onions, bananas, herbs.
Add-ons: Tomatoes, spring mix, broccoli crowns, delicata squash, kabocha squash, apples, grapes, bananas, eggs, jams, honey, herb infused salts
