Menu plan week of 2.25.24

Our weekly basket delivered 2.20 and 2.21 to East Cobb, West Woodstock and West Roswell

Chaos kitchen checking in! This week is definitely subject to change as my husband has jury duty on Monday. It’s a civic duty we all loathe but know is absolutely necessary! I’m asking for your patience in advance for next week’s delivery as I may be doing all steps by myself. There are far worse things that could happen in life so I’ll be rolling with the punches! Hopefully I’m not going to be fighting Mike Tyson.

As always feel free to adjust this to what works for your family. My husband and I are vegetarians but our children aren’t so you’ll see substitutions. EAT DESSERT. Tuesday was Jon’s birthday and we’re recovering from his chocolate cake. Next week I’m making a sourdough discard pound cake, brownies, pudding parfaits.

Sunday: Garbage bread. If you’re from Upstate NY you know what this is! It’s also a stromboli, but in our house you’d use whatever “garbage” you had in the fridge, roll it up in pizza dough and bake. My favorite way to make it is spinach, provolone cheese and Italian style Beyond Sausage. A little marinara for dipping and you’re going to have some happy bellies! https://www.kitchengidget.com/2017/01/27/spinach-bread/

Monday: Baked Mac and Cheese, roasted chicken, potatoes and zucchini. The vegetarians will be having airfried chicken tenders.

Tuesday: We almost always have breakfast for dinner on Tuesday because we work 15+ hour days. This week I’m making breakfast skillets with lots of veggies, eggs over easy and homemade cathead biscuits.

Wednesday: Baked potatoes, steak (Gardein beef tips for us) broccoli, sautéed mushrooms and onions.

Thursday: Sheet pan roasted vegetables over pasta with Gardein Chicken.

Friday: You’re on your own!

Saturday: I’ve been cooking in the late morning and everyone just grazes. This week it’s potato salad, sandwiches on homemade bread, broccoli cheddar soup.

In this house we say NO to Brussel Sprouts.

You may have noticed there’s no recipe using Brussel sprouts. I do have one suggestion for cooking…make sure you use A LOT of oil. They’ll be much easier to scrape off your plate and into the garbage WHERE THEY BELONG. :)

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day! Place your orders by NOON on Monday for delivery Tuesday and Wednesday.
